Are dialects just as acceptable in public places?
Our country gets great development since reform and opening-up. Then, the government makes Mandarin, or Putonghua, become our standard language in order to reduce the difference between people from different places and encourage the development together. However, there are some big city’s subway stations asking their employees to learn dialects of other parts of the country. They think that it can be the proof of providing better service. As far as I am concerned, dialects can not be acceptable in public places.
