It was reported that students at New Point School volunteered to go without food for 24 hours for charity and raised a handsome donation of more than $24,000.It is happy to hear that they have done such a meaningful thing to help others, but I don’t think it a good way to go hungry.

Successful as the activity was, the way of going hungry was not suitable for the students. An disadvantage of going hungry is that it is bad for students’ health. Not eating food for 24 hours may probably let students have stomach troubles. On the other hand, it is universally acknowledged that true volunteers should be earnest. When all the students were required to go hungry, there must be someone who was not willing to do that and this was just against the purpose of the activity.
